Poha Idly



Poha idly is very easy to make and it is good for evening snack for kids. One day I prepared idly batter for next day break fast but that time I had to prepare snack for my husband then I got an idea to make poha idly with urad dal batter, immediately i tried and it was very nice.My husband also liked it. This is very healthy food for every one. Hope you like it....Enjoy cooking....
 

Ingredients: 

Urad dal - 1/2 cup 
Poha/flattened rice- 2 cups 
onions(chopped) - 1 
Green chilli slices - 1 tbsp 
Ginger slices - 1 tsp
Jeera - 1 tsp  
Grated Coconut(optional) - 1 tbsp
Coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tbsp 

Salt to taste

Method of preparation:

  1. Soak urad dal in water for 1 hour and grind the soaked dal in mixer.
  2. Soak the poha in water for 2 minutes, and then drain all the water, pressing the poha lightly.  
  3. Add poha to urad dal batter and mix well. 
  4. Add onions,green chilli,jeera,grated coconut,coriander leaves,ginger slices and salt and mix properly. 
  5. Grease the idly moulds with the ghee and fill in the poha idly batter.  
  6. Steam the idly for 5 –7 minutes or until they cook and become soft. 
  7. Hot and yummy idly is ready to eat with coconut chutney or ginger chutney.
