Saseme seed Beet Rice



One of the most versatile vegetables, beet roots is considered to have several health benefits. It was originally believed that including beetroots in one’s diet was beneficial for the blood. But, this is not the only benefit that can be derived from beet roots which are bloody red. The reason why beetroot is considered to be healthy is that it contains almost no fat, has few calories, and is an excellent source of fiber. Moreover, the betanin and beta-carotene in the beetroot function as natural anti-oxidants.The roots and green leafy part of the beetroot is also considered to be extremely healthy.


Today I am giving you a recipe with beet root. Generally beetroot is not favorite veg for some people, especially kids so I tried beetroot rice with sesame seeds. It was very tasty and healthy. if you try it  once, definitely you will add to your menu. I hope you like it too... Happy cooking...... 

Ingredients:
Beet Root , Grated - 1 cup
Cooked Rice - 2 cups
Sesame seeds - 2 tbsp
Sesame seed powder - 1 tbsp
Green chilli - 2
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Ginger - Garlic paste - 2 tsp
Curry Leaves - few
Coriander Leaves (chopped) - 2 tbsp
Grated Coconut - 2 tbsp 
Lemon - 1
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste



Method of preparation:
  1. Heat Ghee in pan ,add Green chilli and sesame seeds and saute for a minute.
  2. Add Curry leaves and Ginger Garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  3. Add Grated coconut and beetroot and saute until it cooks soft.
  4. Add turmeric, asafoetida ,sesame seed powder and salt and mix well.
  5. Add cooked rice and mix properly and saute for 2 minutes.
  6. Add Lime Juice and mix well.
  7. Garnish with Coriander leaves and serve it hot with any Raitha.
