Dal Rice Dhokla (Dr dhokla)

I am giving one more dhokla recipe is dal dhokla (Dr dhokla), my previous recipe is besan dhokla. This is Gujarati recipe,I got this from TV cookery show. I tried it and it was very tasty and simple to make. In this  ingredients are par boiled rice, chana dal and urad dal. This is very healthy due to combintion of corbohydrates, proteins, fibre and some minerals. This very ideal food for breakfast or snack time. Due to steam cooking I preferred to make it.
I hope you try it too and enjoy cooking.......

Ingredients:
Par boiled rice - 2 cups
Chana dal - 1/2 cup
Urad dal - 1/2 cup

Salt to taste

For tempering

Jeera - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - few

Method of preparation:
  1. Soak parboiled rice in water for 6 hours and chana dal and urad dal in water for 2 hours.
  2. Grind rice and dal in wet grinder by adding sufficient water to get thick batter. Don't add more water.
  3. Add curd to the batter and mix well. Ferment the batter for 6 hours.
  4. After fermentation add green chilli paste, ginger paste and salt and mix well.
  5. Before steaming add baking soda and mix well. Pour into Greased container and put it in pressure cooker and steam it for 10 to 15 minutes. Don't use cooker whistle.
