Ingredients:
Green Chillies (long) - 8-10
Tomatoes - 2
Onion(big) -1
Tamarind pulp - 2 tbsp
Cooking oil - 5 tsp
Curry leaves - 6
Coriander-cumin seeds powder - 2 tsp
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Chopped coriander - 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds -1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds -1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Cloves - 6
Grated coconut - 5 tsp
Garlic paste - 2 tsp
Sesame seeds - 2 tbsp
Roasted peanuts - 2 tbsp
Water - 2 cups
Salt as required
Method of preparation:
- Take cloves, garlic paste, onion, tomatoes, grated coconut and grind it. Make it into paste. Keep the paste in a bowl separately.
- Take roasted peanuts, sesame seeds and cumin seeds. Grind them into fine powder. Keep the powder in a separate bowl.
- Take 8 or 10 green chillies, wash them thoroughly and remove the seeds of chillies.
- Put chillies in hot salt water for 5 minutes. Take them out and let it dry.
- Heat pan add 2 tbsp oil fry the dried boiled chillies for 2 minutes.
- In the same oil, add fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds and curry leaves. Fry them until the seeds crackle.
- Add the tomatoes paste which was prepared earlier and fry it for a while. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, dry powder masala and coriander-cumin seeds powder. Fry the ingredients for 10minutes.
- Add 2 cups of water and cumin seeds powder which was prepared earlier.
- Add the fried chillies to the pan and cook until the gravy becomes thick. Add required quantity of salt.
- Gravy should be thick. Garnish the curry with pieces of onion and lemon.
- Hot and delicious Mirchi Ka Salan is ready to eat. It is better to eat with veg biryani or plain rice.
