Ingredients:
Finger millet flour -1 cup
Rice flour – 2 tbsp
Soaked Moong dal – ½ cup
Water – 2 cups
Green chilly – 2
Ginger slices – 2 tsp
Jeera- 1 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Urad dal – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – 4-5
Chana dal – 1 tsp
Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
Grated coconut - 2 tbsp
Ghee – 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Method of preparation:
- Pan fry both flours together without oil until get good smell. keep it aside.
- Heat ghee in pan add mustard seeds. When the seeds start popping, add jeera,chana dal, green chilli slices, curry leaves and ginger slices saute for 2 min.
- Add soaked Moong dal, saute for 2min.
- Add 2 cups of water, when it comes to a rolling boil, add rice and ragi flour carefully. stir continuously to avoid lumps. Cover and cook on medium flame for 2 min.
- Before serving, dribble ghee on Upma.
- Yummy upma is ready to eat with chutney or sambar.
- This is the best breakfast for any one especially for diabetic patients.
