Bael fruit Milk shake

Today my recipe is bael fruit milk shake. In Telugu bael fruit is Maredupandu. Usually we use bael leaves to worship the god lord shiva, but bale fruit have so many medicinal values. Bael fruit is generally available from February to May. It is rarely available in the south Indian market, But north indians use this fruit frequently in summer When it is available use and get the health benefits along with the unique taste. I am giving medicinal values about bael fruit (from:google).
 Health benefits:
  1. The ripe bael is aromatic, astringent which helps construction of skin, coolant and laxative(cleans and tones up intestines). The Bael Fruit helps in Struggles Against Diabetes, Bowel Disorders and Viral Infections. It has the ability to heal small ulcers inside the bowel which are produced by infection or inflammation.
The leaf juice, mixed in warm water with a little pepper, is give as a drink to bring relief from wheezing and respiratory spasm.
  2. The fruit is a very effective remedy against stomach and bowel problems and is used to treat dysentery, diarrhoea, indigestion, and bowel infections in general.
The fruit is of considerably medicinal value when it just begins to ripen. The ripe fruit is aromatic, astringent which helps construction of skin, coolant and laxative. The unripe or half-ripe fruit is astringent, digestive stomachic which improves appetite and antiscorbutic, i.e. which helps to fight scurvy caused due to vitamin C deficiency.
  3. Ripe bael fruit is regarded as best of all laxatives. It cleans and tones up the intestines. Its regular use for two or three months helps evacuate even the old accumulated faecal matter from the bowels. For best results, it should be taken in the form of sherbat, which is prepared from the pulp of the ripe fruit. About 60 grams of the fruit will suffice for an adult. An infusion of bael leaves is regarded as an effective food remedy for peptic ulcer. The leaves are soaked overnight in water. This water is strained and taken as a drink in the morning. The pain and discomfort are relieved when this treatment is continued for a few weeks. Bael leaves are rich in tannins which reduce inflammation and help healing of ulcers. The bael fruit taken in the form of beverage has also great viscous content. This substance forms a coating on the stomach mucosa and thus helps in the healing of ulcers.

Method of preparation:
  1. Bael fruit pulp will be sticky to touch. For those who do not have food processor, take the pulp and water in a large deep bowl and press between fingers to separate the seeds and soften the pulp to extract juice. It is some what difficult to do.
  2. To avoid difficulty  I have used a food processor with dough kneading blade. Using a dough kneading blade will not crush the seeds there by changing the taste.
  3. Take bale fruit juice in bowl, add milk and honey and mix well.
  4. If fruit is over ripen, then take the pulp from fruit directly and keep it aside.
