Carrot Dal



 Ingredients:

Toor dal –1cups
Grated Carrot – 1/2 cup

Tomato (chopped) – 1
Green Chilli slices – 2
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp 

Lemon Juice - 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Jeera – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – few
Turmeric powder – 1tsp
Asafetida – 1 pinch
Coriander leaves – few
Oil – 2 tbsp
Salt to taste

Method of preparation:
  1. Pressure cook the dal with a pinch of turmeric and asafoetida in 2 cups of water for 3 whistles.
  2. Heat some oil in a pan. Pop the mustard seeds, jeera, curry leaves and green chilli.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste sauté for a minute and add grated carrot sauté until it turns into soft.
  4. Add tomato and sauté until it cooks well.
  5. Add boiled dal and some water stir well. Cover and cook it for 2 minutes.
  6. Add salt and coriander leaves and mix well and switch of the gas.
  7. Finally add lemon juice and stir properly.
  8. Now tasty carrot dal is ready to eat with rice or roti.
  9. This dal is very good for kids.
