Jowar / Jonna / Pearl Millet Idly



Ingredients:
Jowar (pearlmillet)- 2 cups
Urad dal (split black lentils)-1 cup
Fenugreek seeds (methi)- 1 tbsp 

Salt to taste  
Cooking oil -2 tbsp
         
Method of preparation:
  1. Soak both Jowar and urad dal in water separately for 6 to 8 hrs.  
  2. Rinse and clean both jowar and urad dal separately.   
  3. Grind them in wet grinder like usual idly batter.  
  4. Add salt, mix it thoroughly.  
  5. If we want to ferment the batter u keep the batter aside for 4 to 5 hrs otherwise we can also use instantly.  
  6. Now batter is ready to make idlis.  
  7. Take idly trays and grease them with oil.  
  8. Put idly batter on idly trays properly.  
  9. Steam the above idly trays for 10 to 15 mints.  
  10. Before serving apply ghee on idlis, it gives good taste.  
  11. Now yummy hot idlis ready to eat with coconut chutney.
