Spicy Bread Squares

Here I use wheat bread. I think wheat bread is better than white bread. Usually North Indians, eat bread pakoda as snack item but it is deep fried item,  so I modified it into pan fry snack item due to health conscious. Oil consumption is more, in deep fried items so every time I am trying to change deep fried item into low calorie food. My trial is success. This is very easy and simple to make.

Ingredients:

Bengal gram flour (Besan) -   ½ cup
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Ginger- Garlic paste – 1 tsp
Jeera- Dhania powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric – 1 tsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1 sp
Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
Oil – 2 tbsp
Chat masala powder – 1 tsp
Baking soda - pinch
Salt to taste
Water – As needed
Bread Slices – 2

Method of preparation:
  1. First cut the bread slices into square shape.
  2. Above mentioned masala powders except chat masala powder add to the besan and mix well.
  3. Add water to besan; make a thick paste like pokada batter.
  4.  Add Ginger-garlic paste, Coriander leaves, baking soda and salt and mix well.
  5. Heat pan, dribble oil and dip the square bread in the batter properly to cover it entirely with the batter and put on pan, and roast it on both sides well.
  6. Sprinkle chat masala powder on hot squares and serve it with any sauce or chutney.
  7. If you like egg, you can add egg yolk to the batter.
